Affiliate programs

What is an affiliate program?

Lets say that you own a blog and you write about weight loss. At some point you decide to monetize your writing efforts by putting an advertisement from Adsense (Google advertising platform), but at the end of the day you are not satisfied with the income generated by these ads. What you can do? Well, here to help you solve this problem come the weight loss products which are offered for promotion from the affiliate programs. Of course an affiliate program can offer much more things to promote and monetize your website than a weight loss products. You could be paid for collecting emails, sell other nutra/cosmetics products, zip code submits, free registration on dating sites and may many more. In a nutshell - the affiliate program is the middle man who will pay for your blogging and webmaster efforts.

How it works?

The process is very simple. You sign up as an affiliate (99% it is free) on any of the affiliate programs out there. Choose an offer from their list that you are comfortable to work with or fits the topic of your website. Grab the links to the product, put them on your website/pre-sale page (also called landing page or just lander), send traffic to the product and get a commission for each sale! Below is a simplified graphics representing the whole process. In this example I assume that you have your own website/lander page, but the principle is the same even if you do not:

Affiliate Programs - How it Works?

Sounds very easy, right? Most of the cases it is not so easy to go from the first to the last step without any obstacles on your way. Here, in this article, I will teach you the basics how to avoid most of these obstacles and make your way to the top more comfortable and cloudless, reaching $50-$500 or more per day. As you can notice from the graphics, you earn a commission for every sale (conversion). Here probably a question pops up in your mind: Why I should use a middle man and not get the whole amount? There are many reasons, but I will give you one: You want to get paid every time when a sale occurs. If you go directly with the producer (advertiser) sometimes you risk not to get paid (reasons are many). The affiliate program takes that risk for you and guarantees (if you play by the rules and its a reputable company) that you will get your money at the end of the day.

As a start I wont overwhelm you with a bunch of affiliate programs and make you wandering which one to choose. I will recommend you a couple reputable ones where you can apply and start sending traffic to their offers (in the next chapters I will write how to choose a proper offer).

AdCombo (click here to visit)

My favorite one. Their offers are attractive and easy to convert (make money from), mostly about health and beauty products. One can choose to promote tons of offers available for countries which many other networks do not accept. A great advantage of this network is that they have ready-to-go links to pre-sale pages which the beginner marketer can just copy and paste into a website or use them directly on your favorite traffic source. I have made a lot of money with these guys!

  • Commission range: from $0.30 to $17.50 per sale (this can vary, because they adjust the commissions often).
  • Payouts: PayPal, WebMoney, Wire, Paxum.
  • Pros: Min payout is $50 upon request, excellent offers, outstanding support.
  • Cons: You get paid on a sale, not on an order.

ClickDealer (click here to visit)

One of the leaders in the industry. You can choose to promote from dating offers (adult and mainstream) to nutra, sweepstakes, gaming, downloads, pin submits and many more. If one gets the right offer to promote it can make a bank for no time. Highly recommended.
